de actualidad que nunca. Pese a promocionar como quinto single de su exitoso
álbum “Prism” una de las canciones que menos gusta a los fans, la de Santa
Barbara se ha marcado uno de sus videos más coloridos y divertidos para “This
Is How We Do”. Lleno de referencias a los 90, a Brooke Candy, a Mondrian y con
una dirección artÃstica más cercana a California Gurls y Hot N Cold que sus
últimos videos, Katy hace lo que mejor se le da desde 2008: ser divertida,
interesante y enamorar sin ser pretenciosa.

most omnipresent cali girl is making more headlines than ever. In spite of
choosing as the fifth single off her multiplatinum album “Prism” the least
favourite song for fans, she has released one of her most colourful and fun
videos. The music video for “This Is How We Do” is full of references from the
90’s, Brooke Candy, Mondrian’s artwork and its art direction is closer to
“California Gurls” and “Hot N Cold” than to her latest videos. Katy does what
she does best since 2008: being the girl next door, being funny and
entertaining without being pretentious.

The busiest
month in the fashion industry is getting closer and the covers of the chicest
magazines are being revealed. This week we could get a glimpse into Harper’s
Bazaar September issue, styled by Carine Roitfield. The triple cover is
dedicated to music, fashion and cinema female icons. Linda Evangelista
representing the “supermodels of the 90s”, Penélope Cruz and Lady GaGa accompanied
by her French bulldog “Asia” complete the list. US Vogue better catch
up.
El meme de la semana viene de la mano de Orlando Bloom y
Justin Bieber. Los dos protagonizaron esta semana un numerito en una discoteca
de Ibiza, esa isla que estos dÃas presenta la mayor densidad de famosos por
metro cuadrado del mundo. Un posible triángulo amoroso entre Bieber, Bloom y
Miranda Kerr hace tiempo fue el posible detonante de la pelea entre los dos, en
la cual Orlando lanzó un puñetazo al aire, el cual Bieber consiguió evitar
ahorrándose asà una estancia en el hospital de la isla. Los memes no se han
hecho esperar, y aunque desde lestrendykids emito una condena a cualquier tipo
de violencia, en esta soy #teamLegolasOrlando
This week
“meme” comes by the grace of Orlando Bloom and Justin Bieber. The two of them
made a scene at a nightclub in Ibiza, the island with the highest celebrity/m2
density in the world. A possible love triangle between Bloom, Bieber and
Miranda Kerr might have caused the fight to start: Bloom tried to punch Bieber
in the face, and failed, and by that Bieber avoided staying at the island
hospital. Memes have been all over Tumblr this week, and if we condem every
type of violence in this blog, we’re team Legolas Orlando on this one.
WHAT'S NOT
Al contrario que Katy Perry, Lana Del Rey publicaba el que
quizás sea su peor video musical. En Ultraviolence vemos a Lana vestida de
novia, chupando los dedos de su novio, entrando en una capilla y….. y YA!
Grabado con un iPhone y con un filtro “amaro” de Instagram la neoyorquina se ha
quedado más ancha que larga. Y es que a pesar de que su disco para mà sea el
mejor trabajo musical de lo que llevamos de 2014, los tres videos extraÃdos de
este álbum son bastante decepcionantes. ¿Dónde quedaron joyas como National Anthem o Ride?
Just the
opposite to Katy Perry, Lana Del Rey just released the music video for
“Ultraviolence” and it could be the worst of her career. We can see Lana
dressed as a bride, walking towards a chapel, licking his boyfriend’s fingers…
and that’s it. Recorded with an old iphone and helped by an “Amaro” Instagram
filter, the video leaves us cold. The truth is that Ultraviolence is the best
record of the year for me, but the three music videos released for their
singles are really weak and uninspiring. How about a new jewel like National
Anthem or Ride?
Esto se veÃa venir, y es que no sabemos muy bien por que
motivo en los ultimos años, todo tipo de atuendos estúpidos y caricaturescos se
han puesto de moda para su uso en festivales. La culpa de todo la tienen
famosas como Vanessa Hudgens, las hermanas Jenner, Lindsay Lohan o Alessandra
Ambrosio que ya no saben que ponerse encima para llamar la atención cada año en
Coachella. Pues bien, el festival Bass Coast en Canadá (Canadá, tierra de los
DDHH y las libertades) ha decidido prohibir los penachos por considerarlos
ofensivos hacia los pueblos indÃgenas. Porque claro, a nadie se le ocurrirÃa ir
a Colombia con una camiseta de “I <3 Hernán Cortés”. Un poco de cabeza, señores.
This was
expected. Not sure why, but this past seasons the weirdest accesories have been
on fire and have become a must for music festivals. Celebs like Vanessa
Hudgens, the Jenner sisters, Lindsay Lohan or Alessandra Ambrosio are to blame:
they don’t know what else to put on to stand out at Coachella. The “Bass Coast”
music festival in Canada (Canada, land of the human rights and freedom) have
banned Indian plumes for being offensive towards the Indian legacy. Of course
no one would consider going to, let’s say Colombia with an “I <3 Hernán
Cortés” tee. Good move.
The ex
Disney girl showed up at the red carpet of the “Behaving Badly” premiere. Although I consider her to be one of
Hollywood’s best dressed young celebs, I cannot pass this. A top that would
suit a 2002 jlo, black pants and a pony tail trying to hide her not very clean
hair at that moment. Good luck for the next time.
