El pasado jueves 28, y a pesar de las gélidas temperaturas el Paseo de Gracia y alrededores se llenaron de gente un año más con motivo de la Shopping Night Barcelona, en su edición de 2013. Anticipándose un dÃa a los descuentos del Black Friday, las tiendas de la milla de oro barcelonesa proponen actividades, descuentos especiales, música en directo, petardeo, moderneo, ambientazo y muchas sorpresas para todos los que se acercaban. Tercera vez que acudo a este evento, y tercera vez que no defrauda. Y aunque parezca mentira, la cola para conseguir un algodón de azúcar o un gofre gratis presenta cada año más señoras con su chaquetón esperando la friolera de 40 minutos para ahorrarse 2 Euros. Last thursday, November the 28th, and in spite of the cold weather, Paseo de Grácia was full of people another year thanks to the Shopping Night Barcelona. Coming one day before the sale-madness of Black Friday, all shops around the golden mile of Barcelona bring their A game and lots of activities, live music, discounts, beautiful people happen around the stores. This is the third year in a row that I attend this event, and as usual, it doesn't disappoint. Here's the route I took last thursday.
En el 7 de Paseo de Grácia, en la tienda de Bershka tenÃa lugar un más que maravilloso concierto del grupo originario de Bizkaia, Belako. Ya habÃa oÃdo hablar de ellos gracias a unas amigas, pero finalmente pude comprobar en directo lo buena que es su música, la cual es como meter en una batidora Sonic Youth, The Cure y Joy Division entre otros. Echadles un ojo a ellos y a su disco "Eurie" porque prometen y mucho.
In Paseo de Gracia nº 7, at the Bershka flagship store, an amazing live show by Bizkaian band Belako took place. I had already heard about them thanks to some friends, but I wasn't untill I saw them live that I realized how good they actually are. It's like throwing into a mixing machine Sonic Youth, The Cure or Joy Division among others. Check their debut album, Eurie, because they're coming hard.
No se si por el concierto, o por las sesiones de peluquerÃa y maquillaje a cargo de L'OREAL pero la tienda estaba llena, y con algunos rostros conocidos como AÃda Doménech, la cual llevaba un total look de la colección Bershka Crystallized, en torno a la cual giraba el evento.
Don't know if it was due to the concert, or because the free make up and styling sessions by L'ÓREAL but the store was packed, and there were some familiar faces, like Aida Doménech, who was wearing a total look Bershka Crystallized.
Después fuimos a Mango, tienda que estaba también hasta la bandera y en la que te obsequiaban con palomitas y con unos cocktails a que corrÃan a cargo de Malibú. En Oysho optaron por dar gofres con chocolate y dentro estaba la blogger Claudia Albons amenizando la tarde con su DJ Set. En Benetton se pusieron en "modo row on" y se montaron su propia rave en mitad de la calle. Nuestra próxima parada fue la tienda de Scalpers, en la calle Provença, donde además estaban los puestos de las escuelas de moda de Barcelona y de Europa FM, que retransmitieron su programación desde allÃ. En Scalpers, nos sirvieron un gintonic que corrÃa a cargo de Beefeater London.
After that we went to Mango, and it was packed too. They were giving away pop corn and some cold drinks by Malibú. Oysho went for the waffles, and blogger Claudia Albons had her DJ Set inside the store. Benetton had their "mode rave soooo ON" and they created theirs in the middle of the street. Our next stop was the Scalpers store, which is located in C/Provença. This street also hosted the radio shows from Europa FM, which were broadcasted from there. In Scalpers, we were given a delicious Gintonic, by Beefeater London.
Nuestra última parada fue el espacio que la Barcelona 080 habÃa habilitado entre Gran VÃa y Plaza Cataluña, en el que tuvieron lugar desfiles de diseñadores participantes en las últimas ediciones, tales como Albéniz, Celia Vega o Zazo y Brull. La gente respondió más que bien, y en pocos minutos habÃa centenares de gente observando los desfiles. La verdad es que esta última edición, aparte de batir récords, ha superado a las dos de los años anteriores. Si siguen a este ritmo, en unos años se convertirá en uno de los eventos firma de la capital condal.
Our last stop was the stop the Barcelona 080 set up in between Gran Via and Plaza Catalunya. There was a runway, were fashion shows showcasing collections by emerging designers took place (designers such as Celia Vega, Selim de Somavilla, Zazo y Brull or Albéniz). People reacted really well as there were hundreds of people waiting to see the shows. This last edition has beaten the previous year record of attendance. If this keeps going at this rate, in a few years this will be one of Barcelona's signature nights.
