Desde las apariciones en la alfombra de Cannes de Fan Bing Bing o Diane Kruger, la revelación que ha supuesto Jessica Chastain, el turbante de Karolina Kurkova en el MET, nuevas fuerzas como Lana Del Rey, Nina Dobrev o Rita Ora, las estrafalariadas de Nicki Minaj en los Grammy, o el horror de Heidi Klum en los EMA, el 2012 ha estado plagado de momentazos de alfombra roja para el recuerdo. Cuando me puse a pensar en los que formarÃan el top 10 de Mejores vestidos/as , la verdad que tuve que dejar fuera como a 30 candidatos. He aquà el top definitivo para mi, y con esta entrada cierro este 2012 tan intenso para mi en muchos aspectos, que espero que de paso a un 2013 igual o mejor. A criticarlas, que se que os encanta.
From Fan Bing Bing and Diane Kruger shutting the place down at Cannes redcarpet, the style of Jessica Chastain, Karolina Kurkova's hairband at the MET Gala, new forces like Lana, Nina Dobrev or Rita Ora, Outrageous outfits by Nicki Minaj, and the mess of Heidi Klum at the EMAs, this 2012 has given us many fashion moments to remember. When I started to think about what my top 10 would looki like, I had over 40 candidates. Here's my top 10 of best dressed, and with this post I close this amazing 2012 that I hope leads to an even better 2013. Let's just critizise them, which is something we all love.
Taylor Swift abre la lista. La poca en las que no esta en el top 3, porque la verdad que este 2012 ha sido su año. Por esto, y por su impecable estilo ,que ha dejado atrás la ñoñerÃa y el brilli-brilli, merece un puesto en esta lista. En los Billboard Awards se presentó con este Elie Saab rojo (quizás anticipando el tÃtulo de su album) que es uno mas de su impecable repertorio (AMAs, Grammys, CMA...). Este año le toca atender a los Globos de Oro, lo dejo caer...
T-Swizzle opens the list. One of the few in which she's not among the top 3, because this has really been her year. Because of this, and for her impeccable style, which has left behind princessy and sparkly dresses, she deserves a spot. La verdad es que no sabÃa nada (y sigo sin saberlo) de Devon más allá de alguna campaña publicitaria. Lo que si se es que brilló con luz propia en este magnÃfico y peplumeado Alice + Olivia en la gala de los CFDA. No se si es el pelo, o los colores del vestido, o el pintalabios, pero está impresionante.
I actually didn't know anything (and still don't know) about Devon apart from some advertising campaigns and fashion editorials. What I do know is that she shined and looked stunning in this red-striped peplum gown by Alice + Olivia at the CFDA. Don't know if it's the hair, the colours or the lipstick, but she's amazing here.
Era imposible quedarse con un look de todos los que ha tenido este año. Desde la temporada de premios por The Help, a la gira promocional de Spiderman, Emma Stone "lo ha petado". Aparte de ser gran actriz, parecer humilde y buena persona, en la premiere de Spiderman en Londres, representando a su más gótico Alter Ego en este Gucci se quedó con todos los flashes londinenses. Tez pálida, rubia, y maquillaje oscuro. Una visión. (Su Alexander McQueen en los SAG le pisaba los talones a este)
It was nearly impossible picking a look among the many she's had this year. From the awards season for The Help, to her promo tour for Spiderman, she's crowned herself. Apart from being a great actress, seeming a nice and humble person, at the London premiere of Spiderman, she owned all the flashes for this goth inspired Gucci gown. Pale skin, blond hair and dark make up. A vision. Her McQueen look at the SAGs came close.
Va Va Boom. Es más que dificil estar fea en un Atelier Versace, pero es que Kate Hudson en el festival de Venecia apareció como la estrella de Hollywood que es. Todo y que el color del vestido era parecido a su tono de piel, estaba deslumbrante, haciendole la competencia a Sofia Vergara. El 7 para ella.
Va Va Boom. It's more than hard to look bad in an Atelier Versace gown, but Kate Hudson at the Venice Film Festival, showed up as the Hollywood star that she is. Even though the color of the dress could have washed her out, she was shining, putting Sofia Vergara to shame. 7 goes to her.
Producto patrio, que no flamenco. Y es que las actrices españolas, cuando están sobre una alfombra roja, y más si es la de Cannes, cumplen. Siempre he admirado el estilo de Paz Vega sobre las alfombras rojas, y en esta ocasión, con este dramático Stéphane Rolland Couture, estuvo en mi opinión entre las mejores de todo el festival, superando a Freida Pinto, Eva Longoria o Jessica Chastain entre otras. Porfavor, ve a los Goyas 2013.
National masterpiece. When spanish actresses are walking down a red carpet, they really shut the place down, and providing that it was Cannes, they delivered. I've always admired Paz Vega's style for awards shows and galas, and in this ocassion, with this dramatic long trail Stephane Rolland Couture dress, she was among the best dressed of the french film festival, snatching Freida Pinto, Eva Longoria and Jessica Chastain wigs. Please, attend the Goyas 2013.
Al igual que Serena, en la ultima escena del capÃtulo final de Gossip Girl, Blake estaba teniendo su momento en la premiere de Salvajes. Regalandonos este look de Zuhair Murad, digno de una gala de los Oscar, realmente evocaba glamour, el antiguo Hollywood y clase. Nunca ha estado tan bien como en estas imagenes, y realmente será dificil de superar. Enhorabuena a ella (o a su estilista)
Just like Serena at the last scene of Gossip Girl series finale, in that golden gown, Blake was having her moment at the Savages premiere. Donning an Oscar-worthy look, she really oozed glamour, old Hollywood style and class. I think this is the best she has ever looked, and will be very difficult to improve. Kudos to her.
Otra chica teniendo su momento. Hace dos años era prácticamente una desconocida, que llevó un Calvin Klein liso y laso (y espectacular) a los Oscar. Hoy es una mega estrella de cine, que ha protagonizado una de las pelÃculas del año. Con este Prabal Gurung, consigue que su vestido brille tanto como su talento. En otra podrÃa parecer hortera y cutrecillo, pero Jennifer se comió la alfombra. Brillante también su compañera, Elisabeth Banks.
Another girl having her moment. 2 years ago she was almost an anonymous person to the world and fashion comunity, until she wore a coral Clavin Klein to the Academy Awards. Today she is a global superstar, who has starred in one of the movies of the year. At The Hunger Games Premiere, wearing this Prabal Gurung, she shined as much as her talent. Had someone else worn that gown, it might have looked cheap and tacky, but she really made it work. Special mention to her co-star, Elisabeth Banks.
Abriendo el top 3 de las mejores, con una elegancia innata, Gwineth, en este ya mÃtico vestido con capa de Tom Ford, que muchos odiaron en su momento, pero que a mi en directo me pareció que entrarÃa en la historia de los Oscar. Claro, que confiando en Tom Ford tampoco puede ser muy dificil acertar.
Opening the top 3 of the best, with a pure elegance, here comes Gwineth in this epic cape gown by Tom Ford, that many hated at the moment, but the moment I saw it on TV, I knew it would enter Academy Awards fashion history. Shows that relying on Tom Ford is such a great idea.
Otra que casi nunca falla, la incomparable Keira Knightley, y su elegancia natural llevando este Erdem. En cualquier otra podrÃa parecer una cortina de salón, pero en ella la hace parecer recién llegada de otro siglo. Se la echa de menos en galas tipo los Oscar o el MET. Toda ella es tan etérea y transmite una paz que te quedas embobado.
Another one that nearly never fails, the incomparable Keira Knightley and her natural elegance and beauty wearing this Erdem. On any other, it could have looked like if she had wrapped a curtain around her body, but she makes herself look like she has come from the past, and looked regal, again putting people like Kate Middleton to shame. She is really needed in shows like the Oscars or The MET Gala. She is such a beauty to the eye.
I had absolutely no doubt about who was going to top this list, but did not know with which look. Diane Kruger looking like a reincarnation of the one and only Grace Kelly at Cannes Film Festival. Words are not needed. Queen of fashion.
Se que muchos la odiais, pero me pasa algo con su estilo. Si nos podemos poner de acuerdo en algo al hablar de Lea Michele, es que disfruta de cada vestido que se pone. Aun no me creo lo bien que estaba en los SAG y los Globos de Oro. Seguro que esta temporada se vuelve a lucir
I know many hate her, but I have a crush on her style. If we can agree on something when talking about Lea Michele, is that she owns every dress she wears. I'm still amazed at how good she looked at the SAGs and the Golden Globes. Can't wait to see her posing again this awards season.

Ya lo publique en Julio, y sigo alucinado con este look de Mark Ronson de Jil Sander. Ojalá esa camiseta en mi armario. Para mi el mejor look masculino de 2012.
I already published this back in July, and I'm still amazed by Mark Ronson in this Jil Sander ensemble. I wish that tee was in my wardrobe. For me, the best male look of 2012.
