BRIT AWARDS 2016 RED CARPET

18:02:00

The 36th annual Brit Awards took place once again tonight, and the O2 Arena in London was packed with A-Listers from the UK music industry. As expected, Adele continued slaying the whole world and won big, as well as James Bay, Coldplay, Justin Bieber and Tame Impala, who all got their respective awards. Performances included Work by Rihanna and Drake, Love Yourself by Justin Bieber a touching Bowie tribute by Lorde and Black Magic by Little Mix, who totally stole the night with their high energy performance. What about the red carpet? Lots of black, silk and florals. Take a look at the best and worst from the BRITs 2016 red carpet.

1.BEST DRESSED
Lana Del Rey showed up to one of the few award shows that actually recognise and reward her talent. She totally slayed the red carpet in a romantic and floral gown. Model Lucky Blue Smith stepped out of the box when it comes to menswear and he was a winner on the red carpet rocking black, white and red. Finally, Barbadian queen Rihanna brought us back to 2007 with a summery Armani Privé gown that suits the singer's caribbean origin.

2. UK QUEENS
UK music royalty showed up to the event in full glam. "How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful" singer Florence Welch sticked to her style and wore a silk gown very reminiscent of Virginia Woolf. Big winner of the night (who also supported Kesha Rose while accepting one of her awards) Adele chose to wear a beautiful burgundy dress. Hit maker Charli xcx decided to go for British Fashion and rocked an elegant Vivienne Westwood gown.

 3. MENSWEAR
Best Male winner James Bay was also a winner on the red carpet with his signature hat and a Burberry suit while Henry Cavill looked super dapper as always. Half of One Direction (Louis and Liam) presented the first award of the night and both looked quite elegant (though I would question Louis blazer pick). Actor Luke Evans chose blue as the color of his suit. Props for all this men that didn't go for the usual "black suit + black bow tie" combo.

4. BLACK IS BLACK
R&B singer Talia Storm rocked a dress from the Balmain x H&M collection, and Alesha Dixon also went for a very "Balmain-esque" look. Ella Eyre went full black with a velvet column dress and Kylie Minogue went indie, with a lace Dolce & Gabbana dress, a black hat and green satin peep toes.

 5. FRESH FACES
Some of the youngest attendants were the trendiest ones. Both Charlotte Wiggins and Sam Rollinson rocked the red carpet, as well as Anais Gallagher, who rocked her inner Harry Styles. Actor and singer Jamie Campbell went for the rocker look, pulling off with perfection the black leather biker.

  6. LITTLE MIX
When it comes to groups on the red carpet, it always tends to be a "win-lose" situation when all the components coordinate clothing. My personal favourite out of all of them would be Perrie Edwards, while Jessica's look seems a bit bridal to me. The group, who has had an amazing year, performed her number one single "Black Magic" at the show and slayed the stage.

  7. WELL...
I don't even know what to say about Pam Hogg's look. Seems as if it came from a Grimes music video (with all this implies) and it was more suitable for the MTV VMAs. Jess Glynne opted for the magical combo known as "red hair + green". Unfortunately, the styling with the hair and the huge platforms brought the look down. Cheryl... Oh Cheryl... Between the bun and the ice skating dress, the pop singer looked uncomfortable and a bit out of place. She's UK music royalty so we expect more from her. Better luck next time.
